Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver Services
The Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver program (TBI) provides home and community-based waiver services to West Virginia residents who are both medically and financially eligible to participate in the program. The purpose of this waiver is to prevent unnecessary institutionalization by providing services and supports that are person-centered and promotes choice, independence, participant-directed, respect, dignity and community integration.

Below is a compiled list of comments the Bureau for Medical Services (BMS) received regarding the proposed five year application for the Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver which was out for 30 day public comment ending at 5:00 p.m. on April 17. BMS has made responses to the comments which is included in the document below. The Waiver application has been submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for their review. Once BMS has received the approved application it will be posted on this website.
