Data for Decision Making Seminar
The WV Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities invites you to the Data for Decision Making seminar. This seminar is part of the work of the Statewide Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup (SEOW) and the Strategic Prevention Framework State Prevention Enhancement (SPE) grants, funded by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The goal of the seminar is to help those involved in substance abuse and mental health services understand the basics of the data and available resources they will use to make informed decisions in strategic planning and strategy selection. This seminar will cover data in all aspects of the continuum of care: substance abuse prevention/mental health promotion, early intervention, treatment, and recovery.
The overall objectives for attendees of the Data for Decision Making seminar are:
- To increase understanding of required data elements for meaningful decision making.
- To improve behavioral health data literacy.
- To identify available behavioral health data sources.
- To increase data usage.
The Seminar will be held on August 30, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the Days Hotel Conference Center in Flatwoods, West Virginia. Registration information is forthcoming.
