Man in NYC cleared of Ebola virus as death toll creeps toward 1,000 overseas

The mystery man who was isolated at a Manhattan hospital with suspected Ebola symptoms tested negative Wednesday for the deadly virus.
But as doctors here breathed a sigh of relief, it was a horror show in Liberia — a ground zero of the spreading plague — where terrified relatives of Ebola victims were dumping their bodies in the streets.
“They're exposing themselves to the risk of being contaminated," Liberian information minister Lewis Brown warned. "We're asking people to please leave the bodies in their homes and we'll pick them up."
Very little is known about the Mount Sinai Medical Center patient, who was admitted Monday with a high fever, other than he had been in West Africa recently.
